Not too smelly to upset human noses, but smelly enough to attract cats’. But, it’s priced fairly high in comparison to other var. I keep biscuits sealed in an airtight container if they don’t come in a resealable pouch, but with these, even if you left them out, i don’t think you’d overly notice the smell. They actually smell a bit like a savoury cracker/biscuit, but at the same time, there must be something in them, because both my admittedly greedy boy cats came rushing as soon as i put some in a bowl. It is irritating that the pouch isn’t resealable, as i tend to have a few varieties on the go and having a lot of containers around takes up space. The ingredients are of the same trusted quality that i expect from this brand, but, considering there’s less animal content and more cereal/rice in this, i’m a little surprised that they’re about 20% more expensive than the traditional range. Still, i’d buy it because my cats loved it and because iams products never compromise on quality or give them any kind of tummy upset. Both boys are now classed as ageing, and i want them around for as long as possible.

IAMS Naturally Adult Cat Lamb and Rice
- Foods – Dog – Dry Adult
We have two cats that are not fussy eaters. They seem to prefer dry food over wet and this iams product has been a welcome addition to their diet. I’m happy with it because there has been no adverse reaction from either end and because it does not have a strong aroma (unlike some). The bag is not resealable which is quite ridiculous, so one star removed for that.
Decent cat food, with mild moral superiority. May three fussy cats eat it, it is mildly more expensiave than the cheapest cat food, but soothes some of my guilt about feeding carnivores for fun, and so far hasn’t caused any of my cats’ kidneys to go into meltdown (as tends to happen with cheaper dried cat foods).
Iams is the best of the best . Iams makes the best cat food on the market, this large bag of lamb kibble was eaten by my four girls and i mixed it in with half a pouch of jelly each just to mix it up. Iams used to be much more expensive than whiskas or felix but nowadays it is much more comparible in price. In short better quality, the girls love it and therefore recommended.
IAMS Naturally Adult Cat Lamb and Rice : Should be in a ziplock bag for storage. All of our cats bar one (5 of them) ate this food with no observed problems – they’re used to us swapping dried food about to give a bit of variety so we don’t generally have to titrate it against their regular food, and they hoovered it all up; so no waste either. It ticks all the boxes in terms of nutrition and cat health (kidney etc. ,) and to have lamb does give a bit of a change from chicken which is so often the main meat ingredient in dry cat food. Only one avoided this, but she’s a really fussy eater these days and will only eat either the rc or hills oral kibbles. Depending on the size of the your cat this will last either around 70 days down to 20 days if this is all you feed them. The kibble is smaller than a lot of kibble i’ve fed the cats with over the years, being around 2/3rds the size of a lot of the hills/rc ranges. Despite all bar the fusspot eating it without problems, which is my useual criteria for giving cat food five stars, on this occasion i knocked off a star for the lack of a resealable bag, either ziplock (like hills/rc) or with a sellotape seal to allow you to fold the bag down as the contents go down. It might sound petty but if your cat is small then you may need to store this for up to 6 weeks and even kibble goes stale eventually if not stored correctly.
