My very fussy 18 year old tabby can’t get enough of these. I thought this sizeable bag would last her a good long while but it’s not even been a week and she’s chowing through it like her nine lives depend upon it. Great value, great product, i’m definitely ordering more – my two dogs love them too but for the cat’s sake i’m keeping most of the bag for her.
This is healthy stuff, packed with protein and other scientific goodness for you mog. Our cats are from a local cat rescue and they always recommend iams (the cat rescue lady, not the cat). As far as i am aware the cat rescue lady does not own shares in iams incorporated. Previously the cat dined on whiskas and she migrated to iams with no fuss. It does not smell which is a bonus. The mutli pack is great value too, it lasts for ages. The packaging is pretty poor; it has no resealable function and offers no place to cut it open and once opened the bag is easy to split further. Refilling the bowl is a messy affair unless you just scoop it out with your hand.
I chose this food for our young cat/kitten (4-5 months old) but he won’t go near the stuff i’m afraid. We have tried it on several occasions but young spartacus who eats everything else going sticks the proverbial two paws up at it and turns tail unfortunately. With said food passed onto different neighbours’ three (older) cats however the reaction was very different and they can’t get enough of the stuff although two were a little hesitant at first. Both mums are very happy and report back that the moggies are too though they would prefer more user friendly packaging. Scorecard (out of 5 paws) :spartacus 1 pawmaisie 5 pawsdamo 4 pawsmaddie 4 pawsaverage = 3. 5 paws** update – spartacus has now taken to this stuff, so much so he tries to raid the cupboard for it.

Scientifically formulated for the younger cat. In the past we have bred and showed pedigree cats, both birmans and turkish vans. To do well on the show bench a cat has to be in tip top condition, gleaming with health and vitality. Our feeding regime was always to feed wet food twice a day, but to have a dish of dried food available for snacking at any time. Our dried food of choice was either iams or hills science diet as in our opinion these both delivered far more in terms of nutrients than cheaper alternatives. One aspect of the iams dry food range which we particularly like is that they produce different formulations for different types of cat. This particular variety is for kittens and young cats who require more in the way of calories as they are growing and burning off energy more than older cats. Even young kittens do take very readily to dried food. We have often observed the strange phenomenon of very young kittens, just being weaned, gnawing at cat litter.Obviously something to be discouraged.

Reviews from purchasers :
- Wish my adult cats loved Iams as much
- Both kitten and junior like it
- So far the one my kitty likes best
Macey loves it but packets not resealable. . Macey has been on vet essentials for the past year but i thought i’d try something different. He’s not a fussy eater but he really did seem to enjoy this food. I think iams is one of the better brands so you would expect it to be good for your little kitty. Only downside is that the packets are not resealable unlike the vet essentials. Bit of an oversight in my opinion, so i’ve marked it down to 4 stars.
I’ve recently acquired two kittens who have just finished their first 2. 55kg packet of iams dry cat food. I got them when they were eight weeks old and gave them iams from the start, with the first packet lasting three weeks and 1 day. I’ve been feeding them nothing but this and water and they are growing, have lots (and lots) of energy, and no problems with their digestion (i know some cat owners who find iams too rich). The food comes in the form of small biscuits and is chicken flavour (yum). An added bonus is that the piece of plastic that i cut off when opening the packet provides infinite entertainment; by far and away it is the kittens’ favourite toy (the box the packets were delivered in comes a close second). My only complaint is that i would have liked the packet to be resealable in some way.
