Excellent food that works for cats with urinary problems. My himalayan cat was diagnosed with urinary tract problems and had to have serious surgery and was hospitalized for a couple of weeks. This was 6 years ago and since then, on the vet’s advice, i have only fed him hills prescription diet c/d. This has worked wonderfully well. No problems with crystals and he loves the food. Unfortunately our other 2 cats also love it and are alwsys trying to ‘steal’ from his dish. I recommend this product 100% and amazon’s price is terrific – much less expensive than getting it from the vet.
Improved recipe – my cat loves them. My cat suffers with feline lower urinary tract disease (flutd) and has previously suffered with crystals. My vet originally prescribed royal canin food but the food seemed very processed and unappealing. After him struggling with it for weeks i did some googling and ordered the full range of hills c/d food. My cat used to prefer the fish flavoured hills c/d dried food but since hills recently updated the recipe on the chicken, this is now his favourite. He also likes the chicken pouches, but he just licks the jelly off those. Fussy little monster :)since my cat has been on the hills c/d diet he hasn’t had any urinary tract problems (3 years) so fingers crossed he’ll be fine from now on.

Recommended by our vet after our 7 year experienced trouble using his litter tray and was diagnosed with struvite crystals. This food worked a treat, crystals reduced and no more litter issues. I was skeptical (there are various conspiracy theories about why vets recommend this and some horror stories about the food itself) but i’m converted. I read that crystals can be treated by feeding a natural, high quality food. That’s what we were feeding when the crystals first appeared so i know what were sticking with.
Chicken taste & isn’t left on the plate. Expensive but does help very much for cats with bladder difficulties & we have had 2 cats that it has worked well for. I recommend & will continue to purchase.
