I have two cats now 12 years old and they look and behave the same as when they were two. I have had them on burns all their lives on a recommendation from a whole foods specialist. I like that the food has whole grain brown rice and seaweed and the meat content is higher even than in symply. I also like that it is low in salt (always test the dried stuff on your tongue, if you taste salt, bin it) so their kidneys are not assaulted, they never eat more than they need, and stay slim. (i also give them once a day half a pouch each of lily’s kitchen or just plain chicken when i am cooking it, why pay c. £3 a mini tin for applaws salt laden chicken breast?). When i briefly switched to james wellbeloved (now bought out by mars, menu downgraded) at a local shop for convenience , they started scratching a lot and to lose fur around the ears, which i understand tends to happen as a reaction to gluten heavy foods. I got them back on the old menu and the fur is back and the scratching has stopped. Over the years when i have spoken to the burns team, they have given good advice and come across as absorbed in getting the best for the animals rather than going for big sales. Ps never had to take them to the vet for any illness since they were kittens, when they once had a flea allergy.

Our puss is indulged to some extent. She’s three, no health problems, but she’s inclined to be selective. I’m inclined to call it sheer bloody mindedness. She won’t eat until an alternative is offered; a battle of wills. I don’t have the heart to leave her without an alternative after 24 hoursso, on that basis this food has, thus far, been a success. She eats it happily, no digestive problems and she purrs after her meals.
Cats love it (even the neighbours cats get through the flap at night and clear the bowls). Our cats are slim on it too – unlike some cat biscuits which seem to make one of them put on a lot of weight.
(4 Pack) Burns – Chicken & Rice Cat Food 2kg : Great value for money, definitely your go to product for skin allergies. . I was advised to try this from a couple i met in the vets. They have a dog with a very severe skin condition and after trying a lot of other foods and treatments, they assured me this was the only thing that helped sort him out. So with that in mind i decided to try it for my cat as she had a bit of unexplained dandruff and itching and i can see she has improved. Plus i find it good value for money, all things consideredcons :pellets are very small and can lead to vomiting if eaten very quickly. ( but you can get an interactive feeding bowl which slows them down)limited flavours and not massively retailed.
